KSC-02V-0331 (12/07/2002) --- KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- STS-113 commander Jim Wetherbee addresses media gathered for the landing of Endeavour. Wetherbee thanked everyone who made the mission a success, and expressed wonderment at the amount of effort involved in the seemingly routine tasks of spaceflight. The STS-113 and Expedition 5 crews landed safely at KSC on December 7 after three consecutive days of unfavorable weather. The major objective of mission STS-113 was to deliver the Port 1 (P1) Integrated Truss Assembly, which was attached to the port side of the Station's S0 truss during three spacewalks.

Endeavour landed at the Shuttle Landing Facility, completing the 5.74-million-mile journey to the International Space Station (ISS). STS-113 was the 16th assembly flight to the International Space Station, carrying the P1 Integrated Truss Structure, the first portboard truss segment, to be attached to the central truss segment, S0, and to bring home the Expedition 5 Crew who have been up aboard the ISS for about 6 months.

KSC-02V-0327 (12/07/2002) --- KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- The crew of Endeavour learn the good news that they've been given the "go" for deorbit burn, the braking maneuver that will send them back to Earth. During the burn, the orbiter is turned to a tail-first position, and the Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) engines are fired, slowing the aircraft. As it begins its descent toward Earth, the orbiter is turned back to a head-first, belly-forward position to deflect the heat of reentry. STS-113 was the 16th assembly flight to the International Space Station, carrying the P1 Integrated Truss Structure, the first portboard truss segment, to be attached to the central truss segment, S0, and bringing home the Expedition 5 Crew.
