| In Mission Control, Houston, CAPCOM Steve Frick informs STS-121 Commander Steve Lindsey that Discovery is "go" for the deorbit burn. The vehicle's two orbital manuevering system engines will burn for about three minutes, enough to slow it down and begin its hourlong descent through Earth's atmosphere. During the 13-day mission, the STS-121 crew tested new equipment and procedures to improve shuttle safety, and delivered supplies and made repairs to the International Space Station. | |
